The currency of Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijani Manat. Notes come in denominations ofAM50,000, 10,000, 1000, 500, 100 and 50.

Currency can be exchanged at a number of locations – bureau de changes, airports, banks, hotels and some shops offer changing facilities. Traveller’s cheques are generally not accepted.

There are very few ATMs in Azerbaijan and with the country being mainly cash-only; credit cards are not widely accepted – just in some large hotels, restaurants and banks in Baku. See:

The import of domestic and foreign currency is unlimited, provided the amount is declared on entry.  The export of domestic and foreign currency is limited to the amount declared on entry.
