There are routes into Azerbaijan from Iran, Georgia and Russia – though routes from Russia are not recommended, owing to the dangerous nature of the regions that must be travelled through, such as Dagestan. There are no routes into Armenia, as the country has a blockade against Azerbaijan which does not look to be getting lifted any time soon. An International Driving Permit is required documentation, and standard EU driving licences are usually accepted.
